End Poverty Edmonton (EPE) is a nonprofit systems change organization working toward the elimination of poverty in Edmonton within a generation, a commitment made with the City of Edmonton in 2015 and carried since through a long-standing partnership.

EPE does not deliver direct services. We work on the conditions underneath poverty and affordability pressure, and on the coordination between the many organizations trying to shift them. Our role is to convene across sectors, build shared evidence and analysis, amplify the knowledge of people living affordability pressures, and advocate for policy, practice and investment change. Our current work applies affordability as a systemic lens, linking housing, food, transportation, care, income and local economic conditions, with community wealth building as the long-term direction.

A reliable, current picture of local conditions is central to this role. We use data to establish a shared affordability baseline for Edmonton, to track how conditions are changing across neighbourhoods and populations, and to ground the policy conversations we host with the City, the province, community organizations, Indigenous partners and employers.
