The pandemic has highlighted the importance of prioritizing and supporting foreign-born residents in health care planning.  Working together, local stakeholders can increase awareness and create collaborative solutions to improve health equity for immigrant residents in Simcoe County.

In March 2021, in consultation with local stakeholders, the County of Simcoe distributed a survey to foreign born residents (permanent residents and international students) to learn about their local health care experiences.  The Simcoe County Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) is sharing the highlights of the results of this research to health care providers, and organizations supporting immigrants and international students.

Please join the Simcoe County LIP on Tuesday November 30th at 9:30 in a webinar that includes:

  • Presentation on the results of the 2021 Simcoe County Immigrant Health Outcomes (IHO) survey
  • Keynote speaker sharing Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) journey in supporting immigrant patients and their families
  • Information about the National Newcomer Navigation Network (N4), an online platform to support health and newcomer-serving professionals
